ARTIST: PIERRE LETELLIER 1928

#28 OF 275 PRINT

18 X 24 PRINT

Pierre was born in Caen in 1928 near the beautiful coast of Normandy. His great talent was quickly evident and at an early age. He attended the local School of Art. His works became quickly popular, for he must have been considered one of the significant elements of the young French School of Painting. His design is solid and expressive, his palette is ample and supple…, said the great French Paper LeFigaro. He has had one man shows in Paris, Brussels, New York and Caracas. Two of the more famous Salon’s to show his work are The Salon des Independants, and The Salon d’Automne. Even more prestigious is the selection of his works as part of the permanent collection of the Musee d’Art Moderne, Paris, and The Museum of the City of Paris. The words most often used to describe Letellier’s work are "Fine Color," "Strong Lines," "True, Solid, and Pleasant." Arts, the French Magazine has said, "Pierre Letellier is frankly a realist, courageously using classical design which is very sure and a very firm, and which allows him to obtain a depth in his paintings of contrasted values which is unknown in abstract art.
